Join as a Board Member

In ISOW, we elect a new board every 6 months. This makes it easier for students, especially internationals, to be part of the Board without getting their study delayed.

As a board member, you will work in an international team consisting of the following 7 members:

  • President

  • Secretary (Vice-President)

  • Treasurer

  • Marketing coordinator

  • Activity coordinator

  • Course coordinator

  • Excursion coordinator

Next to fulfilling the tasks specific to your position, you will attend the weekly board meetings to update and discuss everything ranging from courses and activities to promotion and partnerships.

Since we are officially a half-time board, you are expected to dedicate up to 15 hours per week to ISOW. This can vary depending on the time of the year and the number of upcoming events. It is up to the individual board member whether to continue your studies full-time or half-time during your board term. Usually, all ISOW board members continue full-time with their studies.

Being part of the ISOW board also means to ‘babysit’ our building, the Global Lounge (Plantage 2, 6708 WJ Wageningen), that we are sharing with ESN. The ISOW office hours are from Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in the evening from 17:00 - 22:00 (course hours) and during Monday and Thursday lunch breaks between 12:00 and 14:00. During this time at least one board member has to be present in the Global Lounge. Babysitting tasks include: membership registrations, payments, handing out ISOW cards, arranging the facilities for the classes, opening and closing the building, making sure that everybody is complying to the corona rules, and checking registrations and memberships.
