Board 2018 — 2019

PRESIDENT: Aryo Feldman I am Aryo and I have the distinct honour of being the President of ISOW. We pride ourselves on being inclusive and open to all sorts of people. We try to create a welcoming environment and bridge diverse backgrounds and ideas, while having fun in the process. Our board is representative of this with different personalities and nationalities involved. I myself am British and, at least genetically speaking, half Indonesian. I am also an MSc student in Development & Rural Innovation, which I really love.

SECRETARY/VICE-PRESIDENT: Nina Flohr Last year, I started studying International Development Studies and Environmental Sciences at WUR and want to specialise in global water conflicts. I came to appreciate many things about Wageningen, but most important for me is its intercultural character. In a city filled with different nationalities and cultures, it is important to create a home away from home. ISOW is a perfect opportunity for me to help create an open space that is welcoming, fun and diverse. In my free time, I like crafting, being in nature and learning Spanish.

ACTIVITY COORDINATOR: Teresa Ye I’m Teresa Jia Yi, second year Master’s student in International Development. Born and raised in Italy, but with traditional Chinese upbringing. This duality has enabled me not only to build a strong and unique cultural identity, but also to understand and value cultural diversity and sensitivity. I’m always down to explore and get to know new and different realities. Therefore, where could I end up if not in ISOW, which represents the heart of the cultural melting pot of Wageningen? ;) Looking forward to meeting you all and organise some exciting intercultural activities or events together!

COURSE COORDINATOR: Chiara Brogi I am Chiara, born Italian and feeling international. Being the new course coordinator gives me the possibility to connect with different nationalities and learn from them. Outside of ISOW, I am a master student in International Development Studies. Outside my student life dimension, I really enjoy going to the market and buy flowers. My favorite colour is orange. I love salty popcorn and I am 1.59cm high, unless I am lying down in my bed. If I had a superpower today, I would definitely have atmokinesis - the power to control the weather.

EXCURSION COORDINATOR: Varun Dinesh I am varun, I currently fill the role of planning fun excursions on the behalf of ISOW. I have been in Wageninen for just over a year now and it’s been nothing but a wonderful experience. I love chitchatting or having really involving conversations with almost anyone. I recently joined the board and already I see a difference in myself in the direction of responsibility (which is definitely a good thing).I soon hope to bring out a new character to Europe.

MARKETING COORDINATOR: Sophie C. I’m Sophie, a frenchie who came in Wageningen to study Nutrition & Health. Second year of master, I wanted to be part of ISOW board after 1 year of membership. ISOW offered me great courses, the opportunity to meet multicultural people as well as enjoy funny events. Therefore, I wanted to go behind the scenes. Random information about what make me feel good : Driving motorcycle & chilling out at the ocean (whatever the weather — can’t be demanding when you’re from Brittany)

TREASURER Ashi Khan I am a second year Master’s student at Wageningen University. Apart from working on my thesis, I can be found doing multiple activities within different societies in the city. But the most fun one is working at ISOW. The multicultural component of Wageningen is at the core of ISOW, and this is what drew me towards it. Wageningen is my home away from home, and I want to make everyone feel the same.
